Managing Director
Bill graduated from Liverpool University in 1982 with an honours degree in Physics with Industrial Studies. From 1983 to 1989 Bill worked overseas, working in Oil and Gas exploration and training. On returning to the UK in 1989 Bill joined the SIRA hazardous area section in Cheshire as a certification Engineer and by 1995 had become the Site General Manager.
In April 1995 Bill left SIRA, formed Ex Experience Ltd. and has been the Managing Director of Ex Experience Ltd. until the present day. Bill is a member of the Institute of Physics, a Chartered Physicist and a member of the BSI Gel 31-11 committee, which is responsible for the Hazardous Area codes of practice, including Area Classification, Electrical equipment installation and electrical equipment Inspection codes of Practice. Bill has also represented the United Kingdom on IEC-79 the equivalent international committee.
Hazard Area Engineer
After graduating from Newcastle University in 2011 with a Master’s degree in Petroleum Geochemistry Tom joined Robertson, a CGG company as a petroleum systems analyst providing exploration and development consultancy to the oil industry. Tom has experience working in the Middle East, South East Asia, Europe and South America with specific experience of working in hazardous areas on wellsites in Saudi Arabia.
In 2017 Tom joined Bill at Ex Experience Ltd. as a hazardous area classification consultant. Tom has undergone extensive training into all matters concerning explosive atmospheres, has delivered training courses and provided consultancy for hazardous area classification and selection of equipment. Tom has carried out equipment inspections in hazardous areas and testing work on flammable vapours and gasses. Since joining Ex Experience Ltd. Tom has worked with a broad spectrum of companies from diverse industries such as; oil and gas, agrochemicals, cosmetics, food, detergents, car manufacturing, hydrogen fuel technologies, gas turbines, Bio-gas generation, high-tech aerospace resin manufacturing as well as time spent with CML an ATEX certification test house.
